Here at DiversyFund, we talk a great deal about alternative investments. These alternative investments include cash-flow positive, tangible assets such as multifamily properties.
Today, I want to challenge you to think about another asset. One that I believe is the most important asset of all and is often neglected in the pursuit of other life goals. Without it, your ability to earn an income, build wealth, and take care of your loved ones is seriously impaired.
The asset I’m talking about your health. We are given one life to live. I want to live my life to the fullest. I want to have health, energy, and focus to accomplish everything I have set my heart and mind to do. I want the same for you, which is why I am going to give you some insights into my personal life and what I have learned over the years.
Many of you have been or are still working from home. This pandemic may have kept you from going outside for a walk or going to the gym. Perhaps you’ve never made health a priority and exercise of any kind is uncomfortable. I want to encourage you to change your thinking about this. Don’t squander what you’ve been given.
When it comes to beating this coronavirus, the best defense is a good offense. We will likely all come into contact with the virus at some point. Exercise, adequate sleep, and a clean diet go a long way toward building a healthy immune system and defending your body against COVID-19.
However, eventually the virus will pass. We need to think beyond today. Keeping in shape will protect you from injury and disease and help you live a longer, fuller life. You’ll be surprised how much better you will feel about yourself when you devote time to your number one asset.
Did you know that looking good and feeling good go hand in hand? If you have a healthy life style, your diet and nutrition are a priority, and you’re working out, you’re going to feel good.
I am going to turn 47 years old next month and I have three young daughters, one of which is only 3 months old. This may sound a little old fashioned, but I want to be around to walk them down the aisle someday.
Take a look at this workout I completed the other day in 54 minutes and 30 seconds:
- Wim Hof Breathing Exercises x3
- 2:00 Stretch
- 1:00 cold shower
- A) 3 rounds
- 50 jumping jacks
- 40 double unders
- 30 push-ups
- 20 bicycle sit-ups
- 10 bilateral kb rows
- B) AMRAP X 20 mins
- 45 sec Battle Rope
- 10 kb hang squat cleans
- 15 kb push press
- C) AMRAP x 10 mins
- 8 strict handstand push-ups
- 8 single arm kb thrusters per hand
- 8 burpees
- D) Tabata sit-ups
- 8 sets
- 20 sec on
- 10 sec off
Don’t let this workout scare you! It took me a while to work up to this. I want you to know that it’s never too late to start. Make sure you find a professional trainer or a certified fitness program online. You should also consult with your health care professional before jumping in. I hope you will make good use of your time working from home to focus on getting fit and healthy. Don’t fall into bad habits. And if you have, break them. Your future self will thank you.
